Nous nous faisons régulièrement demander
pourquoi nous avons chacun une Volvo familiale; et bien c’est pour des journées
comme aujourd’hui! C’est incroyable la quantité d’outils et d’équipement que
nous avons du entasser pour le voyage vers Annapolis. Le douanier s’est même
permis une touche d’humour en nous saluant d’un « Where are you moving
to? » avant de nous souhaiter bon courage avec le bateau. Nous avons battu tous nos records de route
en arrivant à l’hôtel pour l’heure du souper. Le beau temps et l’absence de
tempête de neige ont certainement aidé. La neige couvrait encore les montagnes
dans l’état de New York, mais dès le New Jersey nous avons eu la chance
d’admirer nombre et nombre de cerisiers tout roses de fleurs et des bosquets de
forsythia chargés de fleurs jaunes.
We regularly get asked why we both have Volvo
wagons; well it’s for days like today! It’s incredible the quantity of tools
and equipment we had to fit in the car for the trip down to Annapolis. The
custom officer even jokingly greeted us with a: “Where are you moving to?”
before wishing us well with the boat. We had the fastest trip down, getting to
the hotel just around dinnertime. The beautiful weather and lack of snow on the
road sure helped. And what a beautiful trip we had. The Green mountains were
still covered in snow and as soon as we reached the northern edge of New
Jersey, there were cherry trees in bloom everywhere and large bushes of
forsythia all covered with yellow flowers.
